Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja
There are many things that the game could have improved upon in order to make the game an enjoyable experience to everyone. Below is a list of the major issues that the users of the Storm 4 community have discovered so far:
Functionality:
- The lack of previously promised variable frame rate so users can switch between 30fps and 60fps in the options menu
- The lack of controller support despite the Steam Store Page claiming the game has Full Controller Support
- The lack of a diverse amount of graphics resolution settings for PC. The preferred resolution settings that should be added are 360x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1600x900, 2560x1440, and 3840x2160
- Nvidia Users experience Frame Drops (Lowered Frame Rates) after updating their display driver for PC and some even experience frequent crashing due to memory leaks after 30 minutes of gameplay.
Core Gameplay:
- Certain Ranged Jutsus reach behind the user when the target jumps over or dodges the user (One example being Naruto in his 'The Last' form)
- Certain Character Combos have extended hitboxes behind the user, such as the Almighty Push from Pain's default combo* and the Almighty Pull from Sasuke's default combo* in his 'The Last' form, causing the user to be hit even after substituting.
- Kaguya's awakening animation shows her activating Byakugan, but it disappears after the awakening animation for the duration of her awakening.
- Sasuke (Part 1, Black Robe)'s Sharingan eyes do not appear for the duration of his awakening, including the awakening animation.
- During Dual Mangekyo Sharingan Kakashi's 'Lightning Blade: Speed' ultimate jutsu animation, the Lightning clone does not appear when the standard jutsu selected in the Character Select is anything besides Lightning Blade.
- In Armor Break mode, Sasuke (Wandering Shinobi)'s hair covers his Rinnegan when using his ultimate jutsu or his team ultimate jutsu with Naruto (Seventh Hokage).
- For close-range and mid-ranged characters, if the opponent substitutes after the default combo* or later, the combo cinematic still hits the opponent. This was fixed for Itachi's mid-combo shurikens (5th button input) in his neutral combo, but still exists in other characters.
- When pressing the attack button at the same time as using Leader Switch, the character that would normally leave the arena instead is able to perform a full combo. For certain characters, if the opponent is blocking that character during this sequence, then the support character will only perform their default combo*. Other characters will perform 5 B/O combo inputs instead of 4 inputs.
- When a player performs a Leader Switch after attempting a counter, the original team leader will stay in the arena. Once the counter that was attempted by the original team leader is activated by the opponent, the opponent is not knocked back and the player gains a half-second (16 frame) advantage to perform combos, jutsus, ultimate jutsus, and sometimes grabs. The preferred solution to this problem is to disable the ability to Leader Switch when a counter is attempted. This also prevents the player from switching to avoid being punished for using the counter move a lot.
- When a player is charging a chakra dash on the ground (Chakra Load+Jump hold) and gets hit by a dash before they release the Jump button by a dash, the opponent is instead staggered by this interaction. This gives the person who attempted a charged chakra dash late a frame advantage over the person that performed a chakra dash earlier.
- Background Music stops randomly during gameplay
- Tayuya and Kidomaru's ranged combos do not connect properly.
- When Kidomaru's Jutsu connects with the opponent, the main leader of that team cannot perform a cinematic on grabs or jutsus due to the odd and unique stagger properties of the jutsu. Also, the opponent is able to block the user's combo when the stagger ends as the stagger prevents combo stagger from affecting the opponent as well. This does not happen in other character's stagger hits.
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5
- Jirobo's jutsu cannot be cancelled midway.
*Default combo refers to the first 4 button inputs of a character's B/O combo that is not characterized by whether or not they hold their Left Stick up, down, or neutral
Online Mode:
- The lack of an ability to mute your microphone
- The lack of an ability to mute your opponent's microphone
- The lack of an ability to report users for unruly behavior*
- When a player disconnects from a fight, the other player should receive a win or be awarded around 50-100BP
- The lack of spectator mode in Tournament and Endless modes
- The maximum player capacity of Endless Mode should be raised back to 8 players as it has been reduced to 4 in this iteration of the game
- The removal of controller hotkeys, such as RB to Invite friends
- An empty menu is shown when trying to access the Bingo Book for some users. It is impossible to exit out and the user is forced to restart the game.
*When users report an offender, they will receive a notification that thanks them for their feedback and the request was received. The recommended way to handle users that have been reported could be through this process. Assume Player A is an unruly player. The first time Player A is reported, Player A is warned of their unruly behavior. The second time Player A is reported, Player A is banned from accessing Online Battle Mode for one hour. The third time Player A is reported, Player A is banned for one day. The fourth time Player A is reported, Player A is banned for one week. The fifth time Player A is reported, Player A is banned for one month.
Adventure Mode:
- Backgrounds in some locations of the Village Hidden in the Sand are missing.
Audio:
- All Audio gains white noise static when a user sets their audio frequency above '24-bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)'
Others:
- The lack of an ability to purchase Boruto, Sarada, and Kakashi's Hokage costume as a separate DLC
Being sincere Naruto fans and long time supporters of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, we would like the above issues (or at least most of them) to be fixed in an upcoming patch or in multiple patches. Many gamers who enjoyed the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm games are disappointed by these problems and they have caused a steady decrease in the amount of players online. In fact, it takes about 5-10 minutes to even find someone to play with since there are so few players online.
Although Kimundi, the Steam Community Manager for Storm 4, has been working hard by collecting feedback and data from threads, Bandai Namco has not announced plans to solve any these major issues. Some users have even refunded the game because they were so dissatisfied with the countless problems and long-term silence.
The Steam community is growing toxic and becoming filled with threads asking for fixes and patches to their various problems, but their efforts are in vain because these fixes were discovered by the community itself and require some form of advanced computing knowledge to apply to the game. Gamers are losing hope in Bandai Namco and they no longer believe that CyberConnect2 will ever fix these issues.
We ask you to help us spread the word and let this petition reach the eyes of Bandai Namco. We are not asking for much. We have compiled this list to be very large in order to help Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 acknowledge every single problem the community is experiencing within the game in the event that we have accidentally omitted something that could have been potentially fixed.
We simply ask that Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 release a patch, or multiple patches, to fix the important problems in this game so that Storm 4 can offer a more enjoyable experience. We will no longer let the efforts of so many gamers be in vain. Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 have to step up and, not only listen to our requests, but also make plans to actually achieve them. Please show your support by signing this petition. Thank you.
Sincerely,
The Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Community
